Stage 1 of TReX Tricity 2024 is scheduled across various weeks in August and October and will be held in respective schools. This stage challenges students in reasoning, mathematics, and critical thinking, setting the foundation for Stage 2 qualification. Merit certificates are reserved for those who advance, while all participants are recognized with participation certificates for their commendable efforts.
Last year’s Stage 1 saw over 11,000 students participate, and this year has seen an increase of about 40%, reflecting the growing enthusiasm and significance of this exam in promoting academic excellence. The exam consists of single correct Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), providing a well-structured evaluation of reasoning, mathematics, and higher-order thinking skills.
Stage 2 of TReX Tricity 2024 will exclusively be for students who qualify Stage 1, with results announced by mid-October. Scheduled for the last week of October at regional centers across the Tricity, this stage presents a deeper challenge for students through three captivating sections: Mental Aptitude, Mathematical Aptitude, and Scientific Aptitude Tests. This year, Stage 2 witnessed an increase of about 60% in the number of students competing at Panjab University, underscoring the scale and competitive spirit of the examination.
With a duration of two hours, this stage not only allows students to showcase their abilities but also provides early exposure to competitive environments akin to renowned Olympiads and other esteemed examinations. Admit cards were delivered through schools to ensure smooth access for all participants.
At the heart of TReX Tricity 2024 lies the celebration of excellence, with the award ceremony marking the culmination of this transformative journey. Scheduled for late December or early January, the ceremony honors exceptional talent from Stage 2 with prestigious prizes, including cash awards (Sponsored by our Partner, EdNite Institute for Success), medals, certificates, and iPads/Samsung Tablets for top performers in each class.
It is a grand occasion of pride and inspiration, celebrating the dedication and achievements of young minds. Top-performing schools that played pivotal roles in nurturing and guiding students are also recognized, emphasizing their contribution to academic excellence. Last year’s ceremony at Tagore Theatre was a resounding success, attended by hundreds of students and graced by dignitaries, leaving a lasting impact on participants and attendees alike.
